Sample of Art 230 Glyph Project:

     Left composition contains 8 alphanumeric glyphs in sans serif Neue Haas Grotesk Display Pro, 2 are white and 6 are black. The letters X, L, Z, x, z, k, e, o were used in varying sizes.  This composition was designed with glyphs that have sharp points and strong straight lines. Using repletion of similar shapes creates unity, similarity and repetition. Careful attention was paid to the negative space create by the X glyphs. Focal point created with a micro z balancing on top of the largest right angle in the middle of the composition. 

     Right composition contains 7 alphanumeric glyphs in serif Stempel Garamond LT Std, 5 are white and 2 are black. The letters O, Q, b, p, d, i, f were used in varying sizes. Glyphs were chosen for this composition that have similar round bowl shapes. Larger glyphs were placed above smaller descending glyphs to create the feeling of falling. Negative space is open and provides a sense of openness. Focal point is created with the large round glyph and the uppercase Q.
